Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church!
Whether you are new to the area, looking for a church home, planning on visiting with us, or just scouting out our website for curiosity's sake - we hope to provide you with the information for which you are searching. Check out some of the links below for more information about our church, our leadership, our ministries, how to find our building, how to contact us, frequently asked questions, or really anything else! And don't forget to take a look at our Visitor Guide just below to make your first visit as comfortable as possible.
We know it is difficult and sometimes scary to walk into a new church, so we want to make it as easy and comfortable for you as possible. Here is what you need to know:
Our building is located at 551 Arlington Avenue in Elgin, IL (For a link to google maps, click here).
The front entrance of our church is located at a strange 4-way intersection right by the historic fire station, and the back entrance is just off of Route 25. Our front parking lot is very small and contains primarily handicap parking spaces for the elderly of our church. BUT - there is a parking spot just for you that is labeled "Visitor Parking Only". PLEASE park here! If this spot is filled with another visitor, try parking on the street, like many of church members do, or head around to the much larger back parking lot, where there are several more visitor parking spots.
If you come in the back door from the back parking lot, take an immediate left down the hallway. You will see a building directory on your right that will show you where each Sunday school class meets, where the worship center is, and where the restrooms are located. Proceed down the hall toward the stairway and head up the stairs to our sanctuary where you will be profusely greeted by our welcome team and our warm and welcoming members.
If you come in from the front parking lot, you will notice that we have two front doors. The left door with the ramp serves as our main entrance. Once you enter, the sanctuary will be straight ahead of you and a building directory will be on the wall to your right.
When you come into the sanctuary, feel free to grab a bulletin from the basket to your right, which will have information about that day's service as well as church announcements. In the foyer you will see a bulletin board labeled "Welcome Center" where we have some basic information about our church.
Lastly, take a seat wherever you'd like. In the back of the seats in front of you there will be a visitor information card that we would love for you to fill out so that we can have a record of your visit and follow up with you if that is something you are interested in.
We hope this Visitor's Guide was helpful! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about visiting us.

Am I supposed to participate in the offering?
No, we would never demand or even expect you to give unless you are a full-fledged member of our congregation. Our members participate in the offering as an act of love, gratitude, and sacrifice to God for all that he has given to us.
