Outreach

The truth of the gospel motivates us toward evangelistic service and outreach. Through community outreach and local service events, we attempt to deliver the gospel message to our neighbors.

Evangelism & outreach

Wayside Cross

On the fourth Saturday of every month we serve a hot lunch to the homeless and under-resourced. We also have some men in our church that teach Bible studies. Contact Lori Lindquist or click the link below for more info: lorraine_lindquist@yahoo.com.

Community week

Every August, we do something called Community Week. Though it looks a little different every year, the focus is the same: Service and Evangelism. We often do outdoor movie nights, community trash pick up, a block party, a picnic at the park, prayer walking and much more. The goal is to saturate our neighborhood with the gospel message and the love of Christ.

Trunk or treat

Halloween may not be every Christian's favorite holiday, but it is one of ours because we have dozens of families and hundreds of children come to our church doorstep to receive candy, hot chocolate, hot soup, and gospel tracts. Last year we served almost 200 people, learned new names, and invited many to church.

Service

Garfield school

For many years now, Calvary has had an ongoing relationship with Garfield Elementary School, which is just across the street. We have done yard work for the school, partnered with them by reading to their students, provided snacks for the teachers, and gathered winter coats for the kids who need them.

Yard Work

Our church excels in the area of service. Our youth group is always looking for service projects and yard work that can be done as a service to our church members in need or our community members in need. If you need some work done but can't afford to pay someone to do it, contact us, and we'll do our best to help!
